Floriade Dog’s Day Out 2016
October 15, 2016
Event Navigation
Everyone’s favourite Canberra flower festival is back, and this year they’re doing things a bit differently. Along with a number of other special themed days, for one Saturday in October, visitors are encouraged to bring their pooch pals along to Commonwealth Park for the Dog’s Day Out.
On October 15 bring your dogs down to the festival and enjoy what will be a day of sunshine with your four-legged pal. The range of different flowers on display will send your dog’s nose into overdrive, as will the chance to meet with all the other puppies and dogs of all shapes and sizes who attend.
The one-day event is designed to raise funds for Floriade charity partner Guide Dogs NSW/ACT who do fantastic work providing Seeing Eye dogs to the vision-impaired, as well as a number of other things to assist the community.
There will be dog-themed entertainment on the menu, as well as prizes awarded to the best dressed dogs and owners.
For safety, your furry friend will need to stay on their leash at all times and make sure you bring some bags to clean up any unexpected dog poop. This is the only day of Floriade where dogs will be allowed entry, so if you’re planning on coming with your canine make sure it’s on this day.
