Rose tells us the story of her beloved Buddy, the rascal with a big heart.
Hi PETS! I’m Rose and I’d like to tell you about my beloved dog, Buddy. Buddy turned five on the 24th of July. Buddy is a wire-haired, cream and tan Jack Russell. Buddy is a playful dog and loves pats and dinnertime.
Sometimes, if you scratch him in a spot he really enjoys and you stop, he will lick and nudge and scratch your hand to get more pats! At dinnertime, (which Buddy loves!) he will do this adorable little jig. He perks up his ears, wags his tail and stares at you with big, brown puppy eyes.
Around July last year, our older dog, Lucy, ran away and didn’t come back. Buddy lost his little spark and sat on the deck, waiting for her to come back. Then a few weeks later, one of our friends’ dogs had puppies, little Foxies! Buddy desperately needed a friend, so we got one — a little black, white and tan rascal. We named him Charlie. Buddy and Charlie play around under the house and with sticks together. Even though they have little fights (Buddy wins, by the way!), they still are the best of friends!
One time, we got Buddy and Lucy some dry biscuits that were different colours — brown, red and yellow. They both hated the red ones so whenever eating them, they’d put them on the ground. The deck was covered with little red biscuits!
Sometimes when it’s cold when we get home from hockey, Charlie comes bounding up to us, but Buddy stays in bed all warm! Buddy’s a little rascal with a big heart and will always be my little boy.
