You and I both know that part of being a responsible pet ownership is feeding your pet a good diet, right? That’s why we’ve dedicated this edition to all things eating, from choosing the right food to items to avoid.
This is a subject I think is very important. I’ll never forget the year when Berry, my youngest dog, ate a piece of chocolate she found (after figuring out how to open my handbag, mind you!). We called the vet immediately and were advised to monitor her and rush in if she showed any signs of poisoning (it was only a small piece of chocolate). My husband and I sat around for four hours straight, watching this dog. She thought it was Christmas. Never had Berry had so many pats, cuddles and belly scratches in her life! Eventually, it become clear she was fine, but the stress of that period has ensured we take no chances when it comes to our dogs and their diet. Find out more about what your pet definitely shouldn’t eat in our feature on page 36.
Or, for those of you concerned about what your pet should be eating, make sure you read our article on choosing the best food for your pet on page 34.
